Loving God and

Our Vision & Aims

St James' has a vision to reach up to God in prayer and worship, and out to our community in love and service. We are called to love God and love our neighbour, not forgetting that God commands us to love ourselves as well.
Our current aims are:
- To strengthen our discipleship, learning to speak about our faith, and to encourage one another in holy living.
- To continue to develop our services so that we might reach people more effectively and enable them to encounter God.
- To help young people on their faith journey through our Children and Families worker
- To be a positive presence and a voice for good in Alderholt

Our Core Values
Inclusivity
God’s love is for everyone, so its important to us to welcome everyone, regardless of age, background, or faith journey. We are
open to LGBTQI+ and the neurodivergent, and we look for ways to be ever more accessible. Our doors are open to all who seek a place of belonging and support.
Modernity
We believe that Christianity is as relevant today as it was 2,000 years ago, and we embrace contemporary expressions of faith while remaining rooted in our traditions. We strive to be a church that speaks to the modern world.
Community
The Church is the Body of Christ - we can’t do this on our own, each of us is needed and of equal value and worth - we are a diverse
group united in God. We are like a family who work together to support one another when we are weak, or to share our strength
when we are able. We belong to one another, and we find our identity and purpose in God.
